Staffing

The nursery is owned and run by Hetty Thompson, who is Montessori-qualified for children aged two to 12 years old. She has 15 years experience teaching in both total submersion Montessori settings and mainstream schools.
Much of Hetty’s teaching career has been spent in local schools and she also spent three years working in a Montessori school in New Zealand. She lives locally and is on hand / contactable for consultations or help at all times.



Alongside Hetty are four qualified staff and two assistants.
Details of all staff are made available to parents, and all staff have had references fully checked and are CRB-checked before starting at the school. Most of the staff have been at the school from the beginning. All staff have up-to-date Enhanced Criminal Disclosure checks and their qualification details are on display at the entrance.

There is a RADA-trained ballet teacher who visits the school once a week for both morning and afternoon children. A specialist music teacher and a French teacher visit the school once a week. We also maintain liaisons with the local community, with visits from storytellers from the local library and other relevant people according to the topic work in progress at the time.

The Head, Hetty Thompson, is available for private consultation Monday to Friday at 11.45am or 3.15pm. All teachers are available every day for immediate consultation. New children’s parents will be given a handbook explaining this facility in more detail.
