Setting

In September 2003, this old medical centre was specially converted into a nursery school.

The children access the school safely from the back entrance, where there is excellent security in place. There is a small kitchen area and a cloakroom designed specifically to promote independence in each child.

We have two main classrooms which can each accommodate up to 15 children, both furnished with child-sized furniture and a full range of Montessori equipment. In addition there is a pupose-designed artroom, and a carefully designed toilet facility, again to promote independence and self-confidence in each child.

The school has a range of physical education equipment, including extensive gymnastic and soft-play resources. The garden, to the rear in a safe, enclosed area, is used every day for a range of activities. There is an all-weather grass area where the children are encouraged to participate in gardening activities, care of the environment and animal care. There is also a hard area covered in safety tarmac and equipped extensively with activities for gross motor development.
