About Us

Our aim is to provide a quality nursery environment, creating a safe, secure and happy beginning to school life. Each child is treated and respected as an individual and their needs are catered for accordingly.

This stimulating and cosy school in Barmouth Road will enable your child (or children) to develop at their own pace and make new friends in preparation for the next step on the educational ladder and ultimately for life.

All policies at Barmouth Road Montessori Pre-School are made available to parents of children attending.

Although we have an educational bias towards many Montessori theories and materials, we combine various ideas of early year’s education, incorporating all areas of play, learning and child development.

Barmouth Road Montessori Pre-School is registered with OFSTED for 32 children aged 2 to 5 years. Our OFSTED registration number is EY268405.

Hours: Monday to Friday
A.M Session 8.45am – 12/12.15pm
P.M. Session 12.30 – 3.30pm

There is the opportunity for children to:
• Stay till 3.30pm bringing a packed lunch
• Stay to 1.30pm bringing a packed lunch
• Or arrive for afternoon school at 12.30pm

From an educational point of view, before going on to the next stage of the school ladder, it is important that the children can at least attend five sessions, either am or pm and, in many cases, it’s a good idea to do some extended days if they already attend every morning. Children may start with the minimum of three sessions. Places at the school are offered on a first come first served basis and are open to every child in the age range.

Autumn Term
We put on a ballet display with the younger children and a Christmas show with the older children.

Summer Term
Towards the end of the school year we organise an end-of-term parent’s day and sport’s day on Wandsworth Common. This is only for the older children who are about to leave us and go to their next school.

From time to time emails are sent to parents about what has been happening at school, and there are written details of the children’s day displayed on the notice board.

Towards the end of the autumn and spring terms we hold an informal evening for parents to come and discuss your child’s progress and future plans for their next school. A small informal report is then given at the end of the summer term for all the children.
